Sometimes we need to slow down...

This weekend we had a blast! Jim and I went to an event organized by one of my closets friends: Miriam. We wanted to support her on a fund raising event that her Team Awesome has been working on for Charlee Homes for Children. She's been working so enthusiastically for this foundation that I know all her efforts will be making a difference - I am really proud of her!

I also realized how quickly time has passed, as Jim and I were walking towards the club I came across young girls all cute dressed up ready to party for the night - I felt a bit old but also made me smiled remembering those days that I was one of them - the more packed the place was the more I loved it, listening to the loud music, looking over the crowd. wow! those days did I had fun!

But in the midst of all these, I learned now how important it is to slow down sometimes and reflect on things, about life and where is heading. I don't mean to be passive but it is important to stop and take a deep breath and slow down a bit. Because just like it seemed like yesterday when I was jamming in South Beach time has passed quickly. So my motto this week is to slow down, take a deep breath and be aware of what's around me. Have a great week!

Follow your heart

Starting today, my blog will be different. I will be venturing out more, sharing things that inspire me and also I will be sharing with you new ventures like my first e-store and a few upcoming projects. I will also be committing to every Monday downloading a new creation. I decided “Monday” was the perfect day because I hope that it can bring joy and a wonderful start to the week.

For those who know me, this has been a long journey for me; a journey to pursue my passion. My mantra: “Follow your Bliss” is to follow your passion to do something you love, is a sense of peace that you know you have arrived at the right place; the place that you were meant to be. I believe when you follow your heart, this is when things start to move in the right direction.

I can only speak for myself, but my heart has finally found its home as an artist and entrepreneur. From the time I left college I have been a “jack of all trades”-Don’t get me wrong, I have had wonderful experiences and met so many amazing people that have made me the person that I am today. I was on the search for what has always existed inside of me: “An artist, I am an Artist”.

I followed the long way around, but not too long as I have always participated in the creative world. It took my participation in the entire following list of experiences to come to understand myself better and in turn know my truest passion.

For me it is a joy to create every day. It is what fulfills me and challenges me.
This path that I am now on has always been there, from the time I was little. It just took a bit of maneuvering through life to trust it. And now that I do trust my truest passion – I know that I am in the right path of my own success.

For those of you who are in search of their passion, I hope you find this blog inspiring and for those of you who are in the same journey as mine, please feel free to send comments so that we can share and inspire others.

"Books Take You Places"

I got to excited and finished the piece. Ok, I am a bummer because I promised to include the process but I was in such a rush! I have to turn in my proposal to the Miami Dade Public Library by March 10,2009. The theme is "Books Take You Places.." I am still not crazy about the type and something is still missing...mmmmmm I have to keep working on it.

Part One "Reading takes you Places"

These days I have been working on a new collage series...the more I do this technique the more I love it!I dig using tissue paper as my color palette. I read some of the suggestions on how to do a collage by Eric Carle and he was right about using wall paper paste, I guess he has been my inspiration to work on this technique. Below is Part#1 of the poster I am making, I figured, it will be cool to show the process in making it.
